Kilkenny schools fundraising for choir trip to Slovakia

CBS Secondary School Kilkenny and Loreto Kilkenny are holding an online fundraiser to help their joint choir compete in Bratislava in December 2023. 

The schools will form a joint SATB choir which will compete in the International Festival of Advent and Christmas Music 2023, from December 7 to 10.

They need to raise around €7500 to help students from both schools to participate in this opportunity.

Both choirs are under the guidance and tutelage of Ms Mandy Dowling and Ms Lorraine Maher, Choir Directors at CBS Secondary School Kilkenny and Loreto Kilkenny respectively.

The raised funds will go towards bus transfers to/from the airport, crested jumpers for the students and administration fees for the competition.

The musical collaborations between Loreto Kilkenny and CBS Secondary School Kilkenny go back to the early 1990s. 

The two schools often combine their talent in joint whole-school events, concerts and musicals. Generations of students have formed life long friendships and precious memories while making music together.
