Calling all dog owners and enthusiasts, as part of Savour Kilkenny Food Festival, singer Jake Carter is set to host a special event dedicated to our beloved canine companions.

Taking place on Monday October 30 from 12-3pm at the Parade, Madra Monday, facilitated by Leader Natural Dog Nutrition, promises to be a must-attend occasion for all dog enthusiasts, where they will gain valuable insights into dog health, nutrition and behaviour.

If you have ever had questions about your furry friend's diet or need advice on caring for a senior dog, Madra Monday is the place to be.

General entry to the event is free.

Madra Monday also features a dog show competition, where you can enter your fuzzy companion for a chance to win exciting prizes.

The €3 competition entry fee will be donated to Husky Rescue Ireland, a charitable cause that's close to the group’s hearts.

Husky Rescue Ireland is a non-profit organisation that rescues and rehomes  huskies and akitas.

Their aim is to reduce the social impact of abandoned and unneutered dogs in communities all around Ireland.

“We are delighted to be back with Madra Monday again this year with a fun-filled afternoon planned," said Alicia Coyle, Connoly’s Red Mills Pet Brand Manager.

"There will be lots of goodies & tasty treats for all the dogs to try, the Leader Dog Show in aid of Husky Rescue Ireland, a doggy photo booth and a very special rescue meet up with PAWS animal rescue.”

“We’ll also have face painting for children so it’ll be a great event to close out Savour Kilkenny 2023."

Savour Kilkenny is one of Ireland’s most highly anticipated food festivals. It is due to take place from October 27 to 30.

The festival boasts an impressive roster of food festival favourites, including Rachel Allen, Darina Allen, Rory O’ Connell and more.

Madra Monday was first introduced as part of the festival's  line-up in 2022 and proved to be a very popular event, for Kilkenny's canine population, as well as their human compatriots.
