KILKENNY

The six athletes are hoping to see as many people as possible on Brandon on the day but would stress the point that everybody needs to be responsible for their own safety and navigation

A group of marathon runners from Kilkenny - five men and one woman who are passionate about running - will turn their collective energy towards raising €5,000 to help the children of Gaza through UNICEF.

On December 16, the six Kilkenny Ultra Marathon runners, with lots of support runners, will attempt to complete 500K, by running around Mount Brandon as many time as they can in twelve hours (14,5km loop with 450 metres of elevation).

The six athletes are hoping to see as many people as possible on Brandon on the day but would stress the point that everybody needs to be responsible for their own safety and navigation.

Rory, Gerry, Neil, Darren, Dale and Orla have very different day jobs, including, master glass blower, IT specialists, cabinet maker, fitness instructor and teachers.

Their aim is to raise €5,000 for @unicefireland Gaza Crisis Emergency appeal. All funds raised will go directly to the Emergency Appeal for Gaza. People are invited to help the children of Gaza.
