Kilkenny Gospel Choir
Kilkenny Gospel Choir, under the leadership of Fr Willie Purcell, has announced its upcoming charity concert, Carols for the Homeless, to be held at the Kilkenny Design Centre.
The heartfelt initiative to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need. The concert promises an afternoon filled with soulful carols, spreading the joy of the season and the spirit of giving.
The Kilkenny Gospel Choir invites people to join them on December 17 at 2 pm at the Kilkenny Design Centre for an unforgettable afternoon of music, joy, and compassion. All donations from the concert will go towards supporting the homeless community in Kilkenny.
Established in 2000, the Kilkenny Gospel Choir is a symbol of hope and inspiration through its powerful sound and charitable work. Under the guidance of Fr Willie Purcell, the choir has not only raised hundreds of thousands of euro for good causes but has also touched hearts worldwide with its uplifting performances. This Christmas, the choir will be dedicating its festive concert to the Good Shepherd Centre in Kilkenny who work with the homeless and families at risk of homelessness.
The Kilkenny Gospel Choir has taken its work beyond national borders, enchanting audiences on international stages. In 2005, the choir graced Washington DC with its angelic voices, and in 2007, they captivated audiences in Boston and New York, including a performance in the esteemed St Patrick’s Cathedral.
The choir's exceptional talent has earned them the admiration of former Irish President MacAleese, and they have been honored with multiple performances at Áras an Uachtaráin.
