The Marble County will take centre stage this Christmas in RTÉ's The Kilkenny Nativity.
Following the award-winning Cork Nativity of 2020, this year a host of Kilkenny people will lend their voices to the cherished 2,000-year-old nativity story, the story of Christmas.
The Christmas special features well known Kilkenny faces such as Brian Cody, Michelle Teehan and Myles 'Elvis' Kavanagh.
In addition to this, Presentation Convent NS pupils Eabha Reason Connery and Sadie Brennan, resident of The Good Shepherd Centre Eric Whelan, Dean Stephen Farrell and St Luke's midwives Miriam Long, Imelda Aylward, Vicky Day, and Anne McKinley appear in the festive retelling of the beloved story.
To add to the fantastic mix of locals taking part, Margaret Prenter from Castelcomer will feature in the special after entering a competition on The Today Show.
The city will be on full display as viewers listen to the St Luke's account of the nativity story through the people of Kilkenny.
The Kilkenny Nativity will be on RTÉ One's Nationwide on Friday, 20 December. It will also air on RTÉ One on Christmas Eve at 9pm and Christmas Day at 12.25pm. RTÉ Player will have it later this week.
