Fine Gael councillor Michael Doyle was unanimously elected to the office of Deputy Mayor of Kilkenny on Monday evening.
The Inistioge native was proposed by his party colleague, Cllr David Fitzgerald, who described him as 'a dynamic man'.
The proposal was seconded by Fianna Fail councillor Andrew McGuinness.
The deputy mayor thanked his colleagues for putting thei faith in him and congratulated Pat O' Neill.
“I will provide any help or assistance Patrick needs,” he said. I will try to represent the people of Kilkenny as best as I can.”
