Local men foil Mullinavat robbery

Three local men in Mullinavat were hailed as heores after they stopped a lone raider in his tracks.

A man, believed to be carrying a firearm, had just robbed the local post office when Billy and Liam Walsh and Fergal Tynan intervened.

Billy, who was in the post office at the time, ran out after the raider, while his brother followed the man in his van.

The man stumbled, and he was apprehended by the three men.

Thomastown gardai were on the scene, and arrested the man under S30 Offences against the State act.
