A group of local students are in with a great chance of winning a school trip on the Camino de Santiago — but they need your help.
Duiske College in Graignamanagh entered the social-media competition just over three weeks ago, and is doing really well so far. People can share and like their picture on Facebook before October 31 to help them win. TY student Sarah Conran is one of the 20 students hoping to go on the trip, along with two teachers: “We're the only school in the Carlow-Kilkenny area in it, and we need all the support we can get,” says Sarah.
“We really want to do it — we never thought we'd get this far. A lot of the other schools are in Dublin, and they're very big.”
The holiday is a week long, with everything from accommodation to meals included. The total distance the group will walk is 120km.
All people have to do is go to FollowTheCamino.com and get as many likes and shares as possible on the Duiske College's photo. The school with the most likes, comments and shares by October 31 will win.
