Kilkenny Chef wins top award

Head Chef at the Waterford Castle Hotel and golf resort, Michael Thomas from Loughboy, Kilkenny was named top chef in the regional award for Munster at the national YesChefIreland 2017 awards.

Michael started cooking at the age of 16 and progressed quickly holding positions in many high end establishments across Ireland. From the Shelbourne in Dublin, to Hayfield Manor in Cork, Lacken House in Kilkenny to the Radisson Hotels Group. Michael has won many awards over the years from a silver medal at the Chef's Culinary Olympics 2000 in Germany, a bronze medals at Hotelympia in London in 2006 and 2010.
