Theft from Kilkenny Central Access Scheme site

Thousands of euro worth of power tools were stolen from the former Cattle Mart site on the Castlecomer Road.

The theft happened between 8pm on Monday night and 7am on Tuesday morning.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to contact them.

A garda spokesman also urged the public to be vigilant and stressed that it is an offence to buy stolen goods.

“Anyone who is approached with power tools for sale in suspicious circumstances should report the matter to gardaí immediately.

“People should also remember that it is an offence to knowingly be in possession of stolen items,”added the garda spokesamn.
