Kilkenny Leader Partnership is set to hold its first workshop on Better Transport for Kilkenny on Thursday, November 24 in The Newpark Hotel with Conor Faughnan Director of Consumer Affairs AA Ireland, Brendan Finn Independent Transport Consultant and Tim Butler Director of Services for Kilkenny County Council.
The event which is open to members of the public and starts at 7.30pm, will be addressed by a panel of experts and will include a workshop where community members can discuss what the real needs are in Kilkenny.
Speaking about the event Declan Rice CEO of Kilkenny LEADER Partnership said: ‘It’s generally recognised that the improved integration of rural transport links is vital for the continuing growth and connectivity of communities in Kilkenny City and County. With the help of the Think Tank attendees, KLP hopes to identify the opportunities and challenges we face when developing future plans for Kilkenny’s transportation strategy.’
The event will include presentations from a diverse group of experts.
Mr Rice concluded: ‘We hope to bring our findings to a larger conference on transport early next year and ultimately use these to shape strategy for a world class model for integrated rural transport.’
