Wows all round as YuleFest Kilkenny brings plenty of cheer

Yulefest Kilkenny opened in style at Butler House last weekend as the grounds of Kilkenny's grand Georgian manor came alive with a spectacular light display.

And for the next two weekends, the public are invited to wander around this Yuletide spectacular, one of the key components of an extensive Yulefest programme which commenced last weekend.

Yulefest was officially launched by Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council, Matt Doran as the lights in the garden were switched on for the first time last Friday evening.

Chairperson of the Yulefest organising committee Ann Marie Freyne thanked a very hard working committee who had ensured that the Yulefest programme and its brand has had such a strong presence for its first year and she praised the vision of Kilkenny Chief Executive Colette Byrne.

“Here's hoping we can build on this great start to Yulefest,” said Ann Marie as the carol singing began and Christmas festivities in Kilkenny officially commenced and will continue for the next two weekends.

CEO of the Civic Trust Ciaran Conroy welcomed all to Kilkenny's Yulefest specacular at Butler House.
