A local councillor has said he is shocked and disgusted at the condition of the road at one of the most-used roundabouts in the county.
Cllr Patrick McKee branded the roundabout in Callan, which is near the local national school, a 'disgrace', and says that it requires urgent attention to fix potholes and surfacing issues.
“The road looks like a minefield and is in a disgraceful condition,” he said.
“Adjacent to the road we have the local school Bunscoil McAuley Rice, a busy supermarket, a large residential development with residents paying motor tax, property tax and every other sort of tax, and the beautiful grotto which is cared for so well by locals.
“Having a main feeder road into the largest county town in my electoral area in such a condition isn’t acceptable to me, and as a local councilor I will be making this a priority.
“Kilkenny County Council need to deal with this immediately”
