Temperatures to drop close to or below freezing in Kilkenny tonight

Yellow weather warning in place as showers may turn wintry

Put the fire on and wrap up warm

Temperatures are expected to plummet close to or below freezing tonight as a cold weather front moves in across the country.

Met Eireann has issued a Yellow national weather warning. Showers will continue this evening and overnight, again with the risk of sleet and hail in northern and hilly areas.

Tomorrow will be cold, with sunny spells and possible further showers of rain, sleet and hail.
