The late Gerald (Gerry) Griffin
An extremely well liked and highly regarded Kilkenny man has passed away in Dublin. Mr Gerald (Gerry) Griffin, Foxrock, Dublin grew up at Weston, on the corner of Mount Brilliant Road and the Bleach Road in the city.
The 84-year-old passed away on Wednesday, October 18 of this year at the Tara Care Centre in Bray, Co Wicklow.
He had many family members and friends in Kilkenny and he loved nothing better than to visit them.
He attended Clongowes secondary school and enjoyed a very successful business career.
He was one of the first commercial operators in the oil fired services industry.
He was waked at his home in Dublin with removal to the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Foxrock where his Requiem Mass was celebrated. Removal was to Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross.
He is survived by his wife, Alacoque; daughters Margaret, Sharon and Eleanor (Kilmartin); son Rowland; grandchildren Patrick, Sadb, Daragh, Ben, Fionn, Aoibhin and Hugh; sons-in-law John, Dara and Niall. He is also survived by his sisters Marie, Joan and Ann; brother Desmond, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
