€4,000 worth of suspected cocaine seized by Thomastown gardaí

Seizure made following high speed chase - suspects reversed towards gardaí

The quick actions of an off duty garda resulted in a €4,000 drug seizure by members of Thomastown Garda Station.

On Wednesday night at approximately 11.30pm the off duty garda observed suspicious activity involving a vehicle at the petrol station and contacted the detective unit in Thomastown who responded to the call.

The vehicle took off and gardaí followed during a high speed chase on the motorway. The car then stopped and reversed back at gardaí before coming to a halt. 

The occupants got out of the car and a search took place and €4,000 worth of a substance, suspected to be cocaine was seized. The substance has been sent for forensic analysis.
