Temperatures could dip as low as -4 and remain sub-zero until 10am tomorrow

A Status Yellow weather warning is in place in Kilkenny tonight, with temperatures to dip as low as -4 and to remain sub-zero until 10am tomorrow (Tuesday).

Kilkenny County Council has issued an alert advising motorists and pedestrians to exercise extreme caution as icy roads and footpaths can be expected.

Much of Kilkenny awoke to a blanket of snow yesterday morning, and while there was thaw in some parts of the county during the day, temperatures plummeted overnight and roads were rendered treacherous by icy conditions. Data from Niall Dollard's show that temperatures here fell as low as -3.8 °C on at 4.22am this morning.
