Legendary Kilkenny hurler, Eddie Keher is to receive the freedom of Kilkenny city. The decision was taken today at a Kilkenny city district meeting of the County Council. 

The 76-year-old was proposed for the honour by the Mayor of Kilkenny city, Cllr Michael Doyle who is a member of the same club as Eddie, The Rower-Inistioge.

Eddie Keher won every honour in hurling, including six All Ireland senior medals.
