Jockey Danny Mullins speaking at the launch at Gowran

The Gordon Elliot-trained 'Out Sam' has moved into the 4/1 favourite spot for the main event at today's racing in Gowran.

The Willie-Mullins trained Pleasant Company is at 10/1.

Meanwhile, former Thyestes-winning trainer of 'My Murphy' Liam Burke will run 12/1 Sumos Novios in the colours of Gowran Park Racing Club for the Goffs Thyestes Chase. The Cork trainer acknowledged that Sumos Novios is a somewhat ‘fragile’ horse, but said he ‘definitely has a chance’.

“Sumos would ideally like heavy ground and will come to the race in great form and we think he has a squeak,” he said.

“Winning the race in 2016 was an unbelievable feeling and we would love to do it again. Running the horse in the Gowran colours will add a bit of pressure and excitement in equal measures.”

To join Gowran Park Racing Club is €100 for OAPs and €125 for adults (call 056 7726225). Members gain free entry to meetings at Gowran Park and 21 reciprocal dates across Ireland and the UK.
