Zero Compulsory Purchase Orders were issued on homes in the county between 2013 and 2017.

Seán Crowe asked the Minister for Housing for the number of homes acquired by compulsory purchase order by each local authority in tabular form.

Minister Eoghan Murphy said: “While the specific information requested by the Deputy is not collected by my Department, the following information has been received from local authorities in respect of the years 2013-2017.

He added: “It should be noted that these figures include the compulsory purchase of dwellings for housing purposes as well as for other purposes, including the provision of roads.”

The figures provided revealed that Kilkenny zero homes acquired by CPO between 2013 and 2017.

This compares with 16 homes in Carlow, 5 in Clare, 46 in Louth, 4 in Kildare and 11 in Dublin City.
