A local councillor has raised concerns over the “phenomenal” amount of potholes in South Kilkenny.

At a recent meeting of Piltown Municipal District, Fine Gael's Cllr Pat Dunphy raised the matter after members were provided with details on discretionary maintenance in the region.

The figures revealed that the local authority have carried out eleven days worth of patching works in the Piltown MD, according to their Roadworks Programme update for February 7.

Cllr Dunphy said due to the “phenomenal amount of potholes” in the area the patching works have to take priority.
