VALENTINE

There’s a huge variety of lots to sell on the night

While many outlets are hosting special menus this Wednesday to mark the February 14 date, the Kilkenny Valentine Night Dinner goes ahead at Langton’s.

The Carlow Kilkenny Home Care Team will benefit from this, the eighth annual event organised by Ballyhale woman Mary Harrington.

Over €90,000 has been raised for a number of local charities in the seven years of the occasion to date, including Enable Ireland at the O’Neill Centre and the Friends of Kilkenny Irish Wheelchair Association.

As well as huge support from Langton’s many businesses and individuals from across the region lending support in a variety of ways by donating cash, a variety of items and even their time and expertise. Attendees will get a goodie bag on arrival with a bloom for each lady from Flowers by Lucy and a chocolate by Lily O’Briens as well as vouchers.

They will enjoy a special guest performance by Veronica McCarron’s Arís Choir before sitting to a four course meal during which spot prizes will be doled out and an auction will be led by George Candler. There’s a huge variety of lots to sell on the night including tickets to Ray D’Arcy’s TV show, while one of the highlights for GAA fans is a limited edition print of Henry Shefflin by Neil O’Dwyer which has been signed by the hurling King.
