Cold weather homeless service implemented in Kilkenny as crisis team meets
Met Eireann reportedly poised to issue Status Red warning

Preparation: A meeting of the management team in the council and the principle response authorities has taken place
Kilkenny's cold weather homeless service has been implemented as the county prepares for the possibility of a Status Red weather warning, with the 'Beast from the East' approaching this evening.
An advisory weather warning has been sent to the council's Crisis Management Team, and the principle response authorities – the HSE, Gardai, Defence Forces and Civil Defence. A meeting of the management team in the council and the principle response authorities took place yesterday.
As the weather unfolds a decision will be made in regard to the need for a dedicated phone contact line.
