Hopes are high in Kilkenny this week that it will be third time lucky for Cartoon Saloon at the Oscars on Sunday night.
The award-winning animation studio is nominated for an Oscar for its latest film The Breadwinner, which has already won numerous awards and has been lauded by critics across the globe.
Director Nora Twomey and founding member of Cartoon Saloon Tomm Moore will travel to Los Angeles for the ceremony.
The studio was previously nominated for The Secret of Kells and Song of the Sea.
The Breadwinner premiered in Ireland earlier this month at the Dublin International Film Festival.
