Kilkenny County Council have begun salting and ploughing Priority 1 and 2 roads around Kilkenny as Storm Emma rages on.
A Status Red alert remains in place until 6pm today in the county.
In a statement this morning the Council said some roads would not be treated.

Salting and ploughing of most of the Priority 1 & 2 routes recommenced 10am.
Roads from Ballyragget to Castlecomer & Mullinavat to Listerlin will not be salted this morning due to singificant accumalations.

- N10 & R713 from Foulkstown to Ballyhale,
- N76 Callan Road particularly on the Callan By Pass,
