Footpaths getting cleared this morning
With the county left reeling from the impact of Storm Emma, the clean-up operation is continuing as Council staff clear roads and pavements.
A Status Orange Severe Weather Alert for Kilkenny remains in place until 6pm this evening because of conditions - which will have a significant impact on people in affected area.
Most footpaths are cleared of snow in Kilkenny City Centre through the efforts of the Council and Army staff.
The updates have been posted on social media:
All main routes have been gritted & salted this morning.

Crews now going to plough & grit following roads:
- N25 Waterford to New Ross
- R694 Castlecomer to Ballyragget
- R704 Mullinavat to Listerlin
