RTÉ sports presenter and Kilkenny native, Evanne Ní Chuilinn, has paid tribute to the people working in "front line services" who have gotten the country back in working order in the wake of Storm Emma.
It's important to remember that the dedicated staff of Kilkenny County Council, the health service and others, have been working tirelessly to maintain services from roads to healthcare during the height of the worst storm in almost 40 years.
The broadcaster posted a tweet earlier today about her sister, who went to work at Waterford University Hospital last Tuesday, and finally got home to Kilkenny yesterday.
My sister went to work at Waterford regional hospital last Tuesday, and finally got home to Kilkenny yesterday. Hats off to front line services who worked to keep us safe, warm, fed, alive #StormEmma— Evanne Ní Chuilinn (@EvanneNiC) March 4, 2018
