Increase in penalties for parking in disabled bay without valid permit

Effective from March 1 of this year

Yore hits out at disability parking abusers

Increase from €80 to €150

The Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Shane Ross, is raising the fixed penalty charge for parking in a disabled parking bay without a valid disability parking permit.

The penalty charge for parking in a disabled bay without displaying a valid disability parking permit is increasing from €80 to €150 with effect from March 1, 2018.

The penalty charge of €150 applies if paid within 28 days, increases to €225 if paid within the next 28 days and a summons to issue if the penalty charge is not paid within 56 days.
