Enjoying last year's open day at the Barracks
James Stephens Military Barracks Kilkenny will host an Open Day for members of the public this Friday 20th July 2018.
The purpose of the event is to invite the public to visit the barracks where there will be an array of military/entertaininment stands that will include; a weapons displays, armoured personnel carriers, air corps helicopter and kids facepainting.
There will also be an opportunity to meet the unit mascot (Fionn the Irish Wolfhound) and to visit the barrack museum and restored detention centre and jail. There will also be a
survival training stand and a hurling target practice stand. The event will take place between 2pm and 4pm on Friday. The event is free and parking will be on site.
