Allens of High Street celebrates 70 years next week - the Kilkenny family business was founded in 1948 by Patrick and Mary Allen.
They also have stores in Carlow, Limerick and Athlone - employing fifty people. Allens is now managed by the family’s third generation, brothers Mark, Paul and Keith Allen.
“We are so proud to honour the legacy of our grandparents, Mary and Patrick Allen along with our parents Patrick and Nancy, who opened the very first Allens. It was through their hard work and dedication that Allens has expanded and is thriving today and we are very proud to celebrate their achievements and continue their legacy. We want to thank all of our customers for their continued support and have a range of very special offers in store to celebrate our 70th anniversary” said Mark Allen.
