The Earl of Bessborough, Sir Myles Ponsonby, attended the launch of the Iverk Show in Piltown this afternoon.
His great, great, great, great grandfather established the highly successful show in 1826 to help improve the quality of farm produce in Piltown and Mooncoin.
He hopes to attend what is one of the highlights of the summer in the South East on Saturday, August 28.
The 77-year-old hopes to be alive for the 200th show in eight years time.
This year's Iverk Show promises to be excellent with horses, showjumping, cattle classes, tug of war, best dressed lady, hundreds of stalls and the Great Cherry Cake competition.
