One of Kilkenny City's most well-known nightclubs will close to the public next month, with work due to begin on the final stages of a €1 million phase of investment and development.
The popular Morrissons Nightclub on Ormonde Street will close to the public for the final time on Sunday, September 2, after 18 years. The space it currently occupies is being redeveloped to include a stylish new private function venue, along with a meeting and events space for the Hibernian Hotel.
"We will shortly commence the final phase of what has been a very significant development here at Kilkenny Hibernian Hotel," says General Manager James Gleeson.
"Since opening Morrissons Nightclub in 2000, our friends and neighbours in the local community have supported us wholeheartedly. We are delighted to announce this major reinvestment and the exciting redevelopment of this space. Work will commence shortly with the further details of the redevelopment to be announced at a later date."
