Kilkenny gardai received a complaint recently whereby a person arranged to buy a phone after viewing an add on an online sales site.
The person met two males in a supermarket carpark in Kilkenny City where a sizeable amount of money was handed over. The person was handed a package and the two men left. When opened, the package contained a brick. This has left the person significantly out of pocket.
Gardaí are warning people to thoroughly check a product before handing over your cash and to always exercise caution when purchasing from unknown sources.
