The team behind A Slice Of Heaven, husband and wife team, chefs Neil and Mary McEvoy
Four Kilkenny food companies are celebrating following their wins in the Blas na hÉireann, the Irish Food Awards over the weekend at the Dingle Food Fair in Kerry.
Callan Bacon, Mileeven, A Slice of Heaven and Taste of Goodness Sauces all caught the judges eye and A Slice of Heaven also won for best in the county as well.
A Slice of Heaven is located on Friary Street, Kilkenny - this state-of-the-art Kilkenny Cookery School has been opened by husband and wife team, chefs Neil and Mary McEvoy.
The school provides a range of exciting cookery, baking and cake decorating classes for budding junior chefs from six years old to home cooks refining their culinary skills. Perfect for parents, Kilkenny Cookery School is located beside Mary McEvoy’s newly relocated French themed ‘A Slice of Heaven’ café and patisserie where mums and dads can see children cooking at the school through a special portal linking the two.
The Blas na hÉireann awards are the biggest blind tasting of produce in the country, and the criteria on which the product is judged as well as the judging system itself, which was developed by Blas na hÉireann with the Food Science Dept of UCC, is now recognised as an international industry standard.
