A man in his twenties has been arrested in connection with a suspicious fire that destroyed a landmark building in the heart of Kilkenny City this morning.
A couple who were sleeping in the vacant building were rescued by a garda who noticed smoke coming from the building.
Emergency services remain at the scene.
