Kilkenny student's artwork chosen for Texaco Calendar
An artwork by 18-year old Kilkenny student James Wellwood, from Coláiste Mhuire, Johnstown, has been chosen to illustrate the 2019 Texaco Children’s Art Calendar.
One of 13 chosen to illustrate the publication, James’ piece, entitled ‘Lighthouse’, will appear during the month of November and will be seen in thousands of homes throughout Ireland in 2019.
Winning 1st prize in category G of the 2018 competition, it was one of a number said by a competition adjudicator to perfectly illustrate the astounding talent and imagination of children and the essential role played by schools who encourage and inspire their students through art education.
Calendars are currently available through a select number of Texaco service stations countrywide.
