Gardaí in Kilkenny are investigating an assault which took place in John Street in the early hours of Saturday morning.
At approximately 3am gardaí on patrol discovered a male, collapsed on the ground, with facial injuries. The injured party was brought by ambulance to St Luke's Hospital where he received medical attention.
Investigating officers have obtained CCTV footage and they are continuing their investigations and are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to contact Kilkenny gardaí on (056) 7775000.
