Gardaí are investigating a number of burglaries and attempted break-ins across the city and county in recent days.
Overnight on January 10 to 11 there was an attempt made to break into a domestic garage in Paulstown.
The culprits removed the outer door but did not manage to gain access to the property.
The garage at the adjoining property was also targeted and a quantity of tools and diesel was stolen. Gardaí in Thomastown are investigating the incident.
Meanwhile in the north of the county gardaí are investigating a burglary on a shed in Coon in Castlecomer which took place on Friday afternoon between 2pm and 4pm where a quantity of tools were stolen.
Crime prevention officer, Sergeant Peter McConnon is warning people to take proper security precautions.
“We are asking people to invest in good lighting and alarm systems where possible.
“Also we are appealing to people to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to their local gardaí,” he added.
