Carlow-Kilkenny Gardaí say the drugs were bagged and ready for sale

A man has been arrested following a seizure of a quantity of drugs at a road checkpoint in south Kilkenny.

The Kilkenny/Carlow Divisional Burglary Response Unit seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, MDMA, cannabis herb/resin after they stopped a car at an anti-crime checkpoint at Turkstown, Piltown yesterday.

Gardaí say the drugs were bagged and ready for sale. One male was arrested and detained at Thomastown Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The seizure follows a number of recent seizures of heroin in Carlow and cannabis and illegal cigarettes in a property in Kilkenny in recent days.
