Callan Thomastown is the home of hurling - and we hope that’s confirmed tomorrow!
Kilkenny’s Ballyhale Shamrocks take on Waterford’s Ballygunner in the All Ireland Senior Men’s Club Championship at Croke Park on Saturday afternoon.
Local councillors declared the Callan Thomastown district is the home of hurling, as they wished the local team well this week.
Cllr Deirdre Cullen wished Ballyhale the best of luck in the final. “It’s some achievement to be there again, in the All Ireland Final,” she said. “We’re all willing them to win and bring another title back to the county.”
District Chairman Cllr Michael Doyle said we can “definitely call Callan Thomastown district the home of hurling.”
Ballygunner v Ballyhale Shamrocks in the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship will take place on Saturday February 12th.
Throw in is at 3pm and the match will be broadcast live on TG4 with build up from 2.35pm.
