Kilkenny youngsters encouraged to take part in Nature for Well-Being forest programme

Ossory Youths Nature for Well-Being forest programme, Free Spirits,  will commence in March and run until the end of the year. The goal is to take young people out of their usual environment and to enrich them with opportunities to connect with nature.

"The forest is a magical place of wonder, where we become aware of the cyclical changes of the seasons and we can use it this to inspire us, awaken our senses and excite our curiosity.

"We will encourage young people to grow mentally, physically and emotionally through exploration, fun and laughter.  The group will connect with nature through hands on activities such as art, drama, building, making, creating, foraging and stories.  We want to encourage enjoyment and learning outdoors, whilst awakening our senses and leading to a kinship with wild nature," said Eilis Walklett of Ossory Youth.

The group will meet once a month during school terms and additional days during school holidays.

If you would like more info or to book a place please contact Eilis in Ossory Youth on ewalklett@ossoryyouth.com or 0879442112, it is for 12-15year olds and places are limited.
