Kilkenny Lego whizz Sean Butler has crafted an amazingly lifelike Ryan Tubridy portrait

Sean Butler from Thomastown in Kilkenny has crafted an amazingly lifelike portrait of Late Late Show host Ryan Tubridy in Lego, as the Toy Show gets ready to air this Friday.

The talented teen simply loves art. His Mum Sharon says, “He is always painting and drawing. He owns a lot of Lego and makes different things with it all of the time.”

Sean is in First Year in Grennan College in Thomastown, a town known for its artistic community so it seems very apt that he is already showing such a precocious talent with his incredibly lifelike portrait of the RTE broadcaster.

It took Sean 2  whole weeks during his summer holidays to do the portrait of Ryan Tubridy. He drew him on graph paper first and then copied that as best he could with his  Lego.

Sean is also an accomplished artist in other mediums and loves painting subjects such as this local landscape.

Let’s hope that he continues his art as he shows such fantastic ability and application.
