Carol Ann Treacy with her latest children’s book, The Elfasaurus’ First Christmas, which is available locally
A Kilkenny-based author, illustrator and graphic designer is hoping her latest work is a roaring success this Christmas.
Carol Ann Treacy has just released her new children’s book called The Elfasaurus’ First Christmas. Carol Ann, who was behind
The Little Lost Cat’s Big Adventure in Kilkenny and Barney Goose. A Journey Along The Wild Atlantic Way, weaves a fantastic festive tale in her latest book, which centres around Elfa, the Elfasaurus Rex.
It is Christmas Eve and Santa’s elves are busier than ever. They are looking forward to the arrival of a new student elf to help with all their Christmas chores.
However when Elfa, a prehistoric Elfasaurus Rex, turns up to help instead of an ‘ordinary’ elf, all sorts of craziness breaks out and Santa’s workshop is turned upside-down. The elves think Elfa has been chosen by mistake, but Santa has an important job for Elfa. The reindeer need to be rescued. Can Elfa and the elves work together to help save Christmas?
In the spirit of supporting local businesses, Carol Ann is encourage people to shop local as much as possible - her book is available from Khan’s Books and The Book Centre as well as from her website carolanntreacy.com. Her support for Irish businesses also led her to have the book printed in Ireland.
“I like to support Irish businesses and, for that reason I have chosen not to print it abroad at a cheaper cost, but use a local Irish printer,” she said. “It’s nice to be able to say it’s a fully Irish made product!”
