Some of the country’s leading GAA stars will be in Kilkenny next week to speak out on mental health and addiction issues.

Former Limerick hurler and All-Star Ciaran Carey, who also works as an addiction counsellor and psychotherapist, will speak at a special community event, which will take place at O’Loughlin Gaels GAA Club on Friday, January 6 at 7.30pm.

The legendary GAA player will be joined by another iconic sporting figure former Kildare footballer, Conor Harris.

Conor will speak about his journey through life including his battle with addiction and mental health issues.

All are welcome to this community event. A collection will be taken up on the night with all proceeds going to Teac Tom.

Teac Tom is a charity which provides mental health support and suicide intervention services to those in need. The organisation is based in Kilkenny City with a second centre in Co Laois. The charity receives no government funding to provide these vital services.
