Gardaí conducting speed checks on the Freshford Road in Kilkenny City clocked ten motorists driving well over the speed limit last Saturday.
"They were detected travelling in excess of 20kmh over the 50kmh speed limit," a garda spokesperson said.
"The roads were damp and greasy at the time which further compounds the dangers.
"Penalty is €160 fine and three penalty points."
