Staff, presenters and volunteers behind the incredible Dreamtime Studio Hub in Kilkenny represented the county with great pride on RTÉ's Nationwide yesterday evening.
Dreamtime Studio Hub is the media hub of SOS Kilkenny and operates Dreamtime Radio - the only fully functioning radio station supporting people with an intellectual disability on the island of Ireland.
The station broadcasts from 10am to 4pm on Mondays to Fridays, both on 92.6fm and online.
It's a radio station run by people with disabilities, has a broadcasting license from the BAI and is on air for 6 hours every day, from Monday to Friday featuring music, news, interviews and entertainment content.
Dreamtime DJs are supported to compile their own shows, choosing a theme, speech content and songs.
Radio shows are broadcast live or pre-recorded, depending on the preferences of the DJ.
Dreamtime Radio has been transformational in its approach to ensuring that people they support can access communication, connections and learn all the necessary skills to go on the air.
