Green light given for new Abbey Quarter building in Kilkenny

Permission has been granted by Kilkenny County Council for a new building in the Abbey Quarter in Kilkenny City.

Kilkeny Abbey Quarter Development Partnership had sought permission for a new mixed-use building varying in height from four to five storeys (set back at top floor).

This building is envisaged to comprise of three to four floors of office accommodation together with plant above ground-floor mixed-uses including reception, offices, retail and support space.

The building is to be located behind the current Brewhouse building on the Abbey Quarter site.

Permission was granted, subject to twelve conditions, on May 2, 2023.
