A woman who witnessed the incident reported it to local gardaí

Tourists were forced to jump out of the way as a group of six youths on bikes sped down a busy pedestrianised street earlier today.

A shocked onlooker contacted The Kilkenny People to highlight the issue, which took place after 11am on Kieran Street.

Anti-social behaviour by a group of youths in the city centre has been raised by public representatives and was recently raised at a  Joint Policing Committee meeting.

"It is only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured or killed. The youngsters just sped around the corner onto Kieran Street and went down at high speed causing terrified tourists and passerbys  to jump out of the way. The youngsters didn't seem to care if they knocked anyone down. There were groups of tourists who were disgusted and shocked at what was happening - they couldn't understand - this sort of anti-social behaviour is giving Kilkenny a bad name," added the woman who reported the incident to Kilkenny Garda Station.
