A spokesperson for Tesco has confirmed to Kilkenny Live that the company are 'continuing to work closely with the local council' on the masterplan for the old mart site.
The news follows the company's recent failed appeal against the lands they possess at the old mart site in Kilkenny being designated as liable for the new 'Residential Zoned Land Tax'.
Kilkenny Chamber of Commerce have gone on record saying that 'it is important that the site is brought into use as soon as possible'.
The team at Kilkenny Live put the following poll question to our online readers earlier this year: Would the introduction of a Tesco store be a good or a bad thing for Kilkenny?
The three options were ‘Positive’, ‘Negative’ and ‘I’m not sure’.
