Due to falling trees and power lines, Kilkenny County Council are asking the public to avoid visiting the Canal Walk in Kilkenny City as a matter of urgency.
Emergency services and the relevant authorities have been notified and are responding.
A spokesperson for the Council said: "Your safety is our top priority. Please stay informed and stay safe."
